Sometimes words can get in the way. It's in the Bible, Job 2:13, TLB. "Then they sat upon the ground with him silently for seven days and nights, no one speaking a word; for they saw that his suffering was too great for words."

In silence we can show respect for God. It's in the Bible, Psalm 46:10, NIV. "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Reverence involves silence. It's in the Bible, Habakkuk 2:20, NIV. "But the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth be silent before Him."
